Annual Awards Ceremony - 2016 - News

KYP hosted its annual awards ceremony on Weds 21st September to celebrate, reward and recognise the achievement of its learners over the last 12 months.

Over this period 400 people have undertaken learning programmes with us ranging from Entry level to level 5 higher level Apprenticeships. We have increased our offer and now, in addition to Business Admin, Customer Services, Early Years and Health and Social Care we also offer Adult Residential Management and Team Management qualifications. KYP has been working with Children’s Centres across the borough in partnership with RMBC to deliver Maths and English to parents who have benefitted and gained qualifications through this scheme.

Certificates were presented to the learners by the Mayor Cllr Raymond Dutton and the evening was hosted by Zulf Ahmed, Chief Executive of KYP.

Mayor Cllr Raymond Dutton was very impressed by the achievements of the learners and said “The Mayoress and I were so proud to have been part of the evening. Your students were so proud of their achievements and rightly so! Achievement in gaining any qualification leads to further achievement in life! They are the stepping stones to further learning and a better quality of life.”

Zulf Ahmed said “KYP is now in its 37th year and we continue to strive to serve the communities of Rochdale. KYP’s ethos is of ‘Engaging, Educating and Empowering’ and we are proud to support our learners to progress and achieve. Learning is a lifelong journey not just something that you do at school; I hope that the steps our learners have taken today will help them along that journey. It has been a pleasure to work with these learners and help them develop their skills and knowledge. I hope they carry on and succeed in achieving their personal ambitions”

We have continued to support employers and the voluntary and community sector across Greater Manchester to develop their existing employees to meet the needs of the economy.
