Brief description of the role

To provide administrative support to a busy team, including record management, customer services and all aspects of administrative duties in the team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Principal Duties

Apprentices will be assigned to the Technical Support Team, the principal duties of which are:

  • To assist with the administration of payments received by the Council. This includes card payments, direct debits, bank payments and cheques.

  • To deal with daily post and the distribution of data output.

  • To quality check processes across Revenues and Benefits. This includes the administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, Council Tax, Business Rates, and written correspondence.

  • Process Council invoices and petty cash receipts.

  • To scan and index documentation to the document management system.

 

Other requirements

  • Have 4 GCSEs grade A-C including English and Maths or equivalent

  • Applicants must live within the boundaries of Rochdale Borough

  • Evidence of a good standard of literacy and numeracy

  • Adaptable and flexible in approach.

  • Committed to acquiring new skills relevant to the post and attendance on relevant training courses.
