Ambition for Ageing Project - Neighbourhood Worker

KYP are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Neighbourhood Worker to join our Ambition for Ageing team. In this role you will work closely with delivery partners, community organisations, older people, volunteers and stakeholders to engage and work with older people in one of three wards in Rochdale. Ambition for Ageing is a partnership of organisations across Greater Manchester with the aim of developing creative approaches to reducing social isolation for older people and making areas more ‘Age-Friendly’. The programme is funded by the Big Lottery and is led by GMCVO in Greater Manchester.

The role will be to connect the over 50’s community in the Central or Smallbridge / Firgrove wards of Rochdale. The Neighbourhood Worker will help collect research about the needs of older people and generate conversation, getting them actively involved with the Ambition for Ageing programme. This will involve supporting ‘Volunteer Ambassadors’ and ‘Decision Makers’ to identify community assets, make decisions on projects or investments and ensure that activities are shaped and designed by Older People.


  • Experience of working in the community, especially with older people, is essential
  •  Educated to Level 3 or equivalent preferred 

Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.
