OPERATIONS MANAGER

 

KYP is a leading VCSE organisation established in 1979. We are dedicated to engaging and working with local people and diverse communities of Rochdale for the social and economic development of the borough.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join our organisation. We are seeking a talented, passionate and experienced individual to lead our teams to support business continuity, diversity and growth. You will have a proven track record within the VCSE or public sector of driving and motivating staff to achieve organisational targets and outcomes and securing new business/funding enabling us to extend our reach and support to the communities.

You will implement quality systems and processes and ultimately, contribute to organisational growth and success. You will build lasting relationships with BAME and other disadvantaged communities, VCSE and public sector partners, employers, our learners, beneficiaries, clients and customers to meet our business plan targets

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To lead KYP’s people, policy and programmes through positive management strategies and continue our commitment to invest in our people, quality assurance, H&S and other regulatory/internal processes.

To ensure that the personnel and resources of KYP are optimised in such a way as to meet the evolving and emerging needs of the BAME and disadvantaged communities.

To provide an environment that is safe, structured and friendly and ensure KYP’s ethos and founding principles are maintained.

To maintain and develop relationships with strategic bodies and agencies that enhance KYP’s aims and objectives.

To monitor and update KYP’s current and emerging strategies that respond to the community and organisational needs, in conjunction with the CEO and Board of Directors.

To manage, administer and develop all KYP provisions in accordance with KYP and stakeholder guidelines.

To deputise for the CEO as and when required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience of managing, developing, delivering and monitoring diverse training and community development projects including ESOL, employability, enterprise, vocational skills, Informal Adult Education etc.

Commitment to equality and diversity together with an understanding of the needs of disadvantaged groups including BAME, women, young people, unemployed, etc, and experience of developing innovative solutions /projects targeted at disadvantaged individuals.

Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Knowledge and experience of accessing a range of external funding including Lottery, DWP, NHS, ESF, etc.

Ability to network and develop long term relationships and partners.

A clear thinking, confident individual with good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and communicate persuasively at all levels.

Good marketing, social media and promotion skills.

Ability to consistently meet demanding targets and to produce quality work in a busy, multi-functional environment and meet deadlines under pressure.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritise and solve complex issues.

Effective communication skills; verbal, written and confident in the use of ICT (MS Office software and data systems).

Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative, planning and prioritising own work as well as overseeing the work of others.

Ability to write reports and identify issues and recommendations.

 

Educational attainment:

Must have a good solid educational background to at least Level 4 or above, preferably in a relevant subject (eg Business Management, Project Management, Community Development, etc)

Salary: circa £30,000 based on experience.
