KYP’s Advice & Welfare team deliver free, confidential support at various community venues across Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton.
Our friendly and experienced advice workers are here to help with all aspects of benefits. We’ll make sure you get the right support and understand what you’re entitled to.
Our Advisers can:
- Help you understand how the benefits system works
- Check you’re getting the correct amount of benefits
- Advise on benefit overpayments and sanctions
- Help with housing applications & your housing rights
- Support with managing and budgeting for bills
- Help you challenge benefit decisions through a mandatory reconsideration
- Help with benefit claims such as Universal Credit, Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment and Attendance Allowance
We offer a free Form Filling Service to vulnerable people, the elderly and those unable to read or write to complete benefit forms.

No — all our advice and welfare support is completely free, independent, and confidential.
You can request support by completing our online referral form. Once we receive it, an adviser will contact you within two working days (Monday–Friday) to arrange your appointment.
If possible, bring any letters, forms, or documents related to your issue — for example, benefit letters, ID, or proof of income. This helps us give you accurate advice and support on the day.
Yes, you’re very welcome to bring a friend, family member, or support worker if it helps you feel more comfortable.
Yes — as well as English, our advisers speak Urdu, Pahari, and Punjabi, and we can arrange interpreters for other languages if needed.
Your adviser will agree next steps with you at the end of your appointment. This might include follow-up actions, referrals to other services, or booking another appointment if more support is needed.
