Apna Ghar

About Our Day Care Services

At KYP, our commitment to the well-being of our local community extends to the elderly members who have played an integral role in shaping our neighbourhood. We take immense pride in fostering enduring relationships with our senior participants and offer them a warm and welcoming place known as “Apna Ghar” (Our Home). Established in 2001, Apna Ghar has been a  provider of daycare services for the “young at heart” within our borough’s senior population. We have created an environment where elders can seek opportunities for interaction, socialisation, and active participation. As the local community ages and evolves more and more, elders face social isolation and health inequalities.

What We Offer:

A Safe and Welcoming Space

Our Day Care Service caters to individuals aged 50 and above, as well as vulnerable adults, with gender-specific sessions.

  • Every Tuesday- Womens session
  • Every Wednesday- Mens session

Social Prescribing Activities: KYP is dedicated to delivering activities centred around social prescribing. Our organisation collaborates with healthcare professionals to receive referrals and subsequently designs programs aimed at enhancing health and well-being. Through non-clinical services, we strive to diminish health disparities in our local community.

User-Centric Approach: We empower our service users to self-organise and contribute to the service’s design, fostering a sense of ownership and pride. This collaborative effort ensures that the service aligns with their needs and promotes independence.

Diverse Activities: Apna Ghar offers a wide range of recreational and creative activities, healthy living initiatives (including exercise and healthy eating), and opportunities for discussion and socialisation. The activities evolve to cater to the changing needs and preferences of our users.

Engaging Programs: From day trips and arts and crafts to board games, armchair exercises, massage, and pool, our programs are designed to enrich the lives of our elderly participants.
