Voices of Women

At KYP, we are proud to collaborate with Community Arts Northwest to offer a unique program tailored to women aged 50 and above. Our aim is to provide a safe and supportive space where local women can embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery through the powerful medium of art therapy.
What We Offer:
Exploring Life’s Journey: Our program invites local women to participate in a profound exploration of their life’s journey as women. Through the therapeutic use of art, photos, and music, participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, challenges, and triumphs, ultimately crafting a visual narrative of their unique stories.
Professional Facilitation: Our experienced facilitator guides and supports the creative process, ensuring that each participant feels comfortable and empowered to express themselves authentically. The facilitator also leads gentle exercise sessions, tailored to accommodate each woman’s individual mobility level.
The service users self organise and shape the service to promote independence. This gives users a sense of ownership and pride in the service they receive. Activities are arranged for users to provide additional support.
Apna Ghar service users take part in recreational and creative activities, healthy living initiatives (including exercise and healthy eating), plus opportunities to debate and discuss issues and to socialise. These continuously change dependant on the needs of the users; including (but not limited to):
Day trips
Arts & crafts
Sewing
Armchair exercises
Massage
Apna Ghar day care centre also provides access to information, advice and guidance from professional service providers. We can also help with respite if you are a carer.
