Rochdale Diversity Awards 2017
Once again, the Great Hall at Rochdale Town Hall was the venue for the Rochdale Diversity Awards Ceremony 2017. Champions of Diversity from across the borough or Rochdale and Greater Manchester attended the event held on Friday 19th May 2017. Now in its sixth year, and and organised by KYP, Rochdale Diversity Awards (RDA) continues to promote the excellent work being done by individuals, organisations and employers in the support and promotion of equality, diversity and cohesion within the borough. The awards also aim to motivate service providers by ensuring equality and diversity issues are central to the remodelling and transformation of local services and organisations. |
Host for the evening was Zulf Ali and the guest speakers were: Cllr Ian Duckworth – Mayor of Rochdale, Cllr Richard Farnell – Leader of Rochdale Council, Chief Superintendent Neil Evans – Greater Manchester Police, Annie Zaidi – “Coach Annie” and Lord Qurban Hussain of Luton.
“We should all challenge the negative portrayal of Rochdale and celebrate all that is good in the borough, after all, we have many things to be proud of and everyone in this room should have one aim, to work together in co-operation for the harmony and prosperity of the residents and community of Rochdale.” |
