Rochdale Diversity Awards

2023 Award Categories

We are looking for individuals, groups and/or organisations that have made a positive contribution to equality, diversity and inclusion in our borough by supporting, delivering and/or advancing in one or more of the Award categories listed below:  

1.         Cohesion Award

This award is for an individual, group, or organisation in the private, public, or VCSFE sector that has made an outstanding contribution to championing and/or improving cohesion within the borough.

2.         Workforce Diversity Award 

This award is for an organisation that has championed equality, diversity and inclusion in their workplace to achieve a balanced workforce that is reflective of their local community/customer base, creating awareness, developing opportunities, supporting progression, and retention of people from disadvantaged or underrepresented communities.

3.         Diversity in Apprenticeships Award

This award is for a learning provider or an employer that has been supportive in encouraging and increasing the take-up of Apprenticeships from within underrepresented communities or has made significant efforts to attract and employ apprentices from underrepresented communities.

4.         Diversity in Education Award 

This award aims to highlight the important role schools, colleges, and education providers play in cohesion and to highlight best practices in promoting, sharing, and/or teaching about cohesive communities.

5.         Diversity in Health Award

This award is for an individual or organisation in the public, VCSFE Sector, or health sector that has made an outstanding contribution to improving health (outcomes and/or services) for disadvantaged and underrepresented communities in the Borough.

6.         Diversity in Public Sector Partnership Working Award 

This award recognises the impact that public sector organisations have had in promoting and supporting cohesion and diversity and implementing projects and strategies to support under-represented groups.

7.         Breaking Barriers Award 

This award is for organisations breaking boundaries or barriers to work with underrepresented communities, ensuring their services are accessible, inclusive and appropriate to the communities of the borough. 

8.         Community, Voluntary & Faith Sector Award

This award aims to highlight the role the VCSFE sector has on cohesion and to showcase the work being undertaken to support and promote cohesive communities in the borough.  

9.         Outstanding Achievement in Diversity 

This award aims to recognise the work done by individuals who are going above and beyond to promote and encourage disadvantaged or underrepresented communities in the borough to aspire and achieve their goals.

The Closing date for Nominations is 17:00 on Friday 3^rd November 2023.

The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 1^st December 2023 at KYP’s Unity House centre.
